Practice Areas: Employment and Industrial Relations

The Firm provides employment law advice that is practical and comes with an acute understanding of current employment practices in Jamaica. We assist employers in reinforcing strong employer-employee relationships. We also help with the on-going training and preparation of managerial and supervisory staff with day to day human resource issues. Services in this practice area extend to matters relating to contracts of service, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements; the provision of advice on employment laws and regulations, staff employment policies and manuals, rights and obligations of employers and employees, disciplinary procedures and practice, collective bargaining, management of disputes through conciliation at the Labour Ministry and arbitration at the Industrial Disputes Tribunal, advice on termination of employment and employment issues arising in acquisitions or transfer of businesses.
